Bio
Dr. Austin Thomas is a Milton, Florida, native who graduated from Milton High School and Pensacola State College simultaneously through the dual enrollment program, earning his Associate degree summa cum laude. He continued his education at the University of West Florida, where he graduated cum laude, and then earned his Doctor of Optometry degree magna cum laude from the Kentucky College of Optometry. After completing his education and clinical training, Dr. Thomas was excited to return to Northwest Florida to begin serving patients in the community he has long called home.
During optometry school, Dr. Thomas served as Chancellor of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and was recognized with the Kentucky College of Optometry Pioneer International Senior Excellence Award for his dedication to patient care.
Dr. Thomas completed clinical training through a variety of specialty rotations, including pediatrics, ocular disease management, glaucoma care, specialty contact lenses, and post-operative surgical care. His training included rotations at the Dr. Jerald F. Combs Eye Clinic in Pikeville, Kentucky, as well as Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers and Gaddie Eye Centers in Louisville, Kentucky.
Board-certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO), Dr. Thomas provides comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages. He enjoys building lasting relationships with patients and helping them achieve their best possible vision and eye health.
Outside the office, Dr. Thomas enjoys spending time with his fiancée, cheering on the Florida State Seminoles, catching the Blue Angels over Pensacola Beach, and playing golf.
