Doctors with a Heart 2026

UPDATE: Registration is now full at ALL participating offices for the 2026 Doctors with a Heart Program (2/4/26)

In its 39th year, Terrezza Optical Group’s annual Doctors with a Heart program will take place on Feb. 13. This community outreach program provides free eye exams and eyeglasses to low-income, uninsured patients.

To begin the registration process, participants must call one of the practice’s participating offices and request registration. A staff member will follow up with each registrant to conduct a brief phone interview to determine eligibility and schedule an appointment for Feb. 13. Program openings are on a first-come, first-served basis, and patients are encouraged to call as soon as possible to begin the registration and verification process.

Held each year on or near Valentine’s Day, the Doctors with a Heart concept originated in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1987, when a local dentist sought to establish a national day of service to provide quality dental care to those in need. Over nearly 40 years, the program expanded to include multiple healthcare disciplines, including eye care.
